Description

This intermediate Lindy Hop recap video is great for beginners and experienced swing dancers alike, designed to help everyone grow their skills, refine their Lindy Hop and roots jazz movement, and develop their unique voice, as taught by Jonathan Lindsey of Savage Rhythm with Marissa. Intermediate/Advanced Lindy Hop Lesson Recap: The lesson started by mastering swing outs that open up on five, six, seven, eight. This foundational concept then led into adding a stylish tuck turn. Next, the focus was on the tuck turn with a break on three and four. This section explored the critical role of compression in both leads' and follows' hands, with the lead adding a subtle press on the follow's back. Remember that "press, press, press" as the follow turns, leading into the break on five, holding on six, and then opening up on seven and eight, just like the initial swing outs. Leads, maintain your frame and let your body turn your partner – no "conductor" arms needed! The sliding doors concept was then introduced. Leads, open your frame to create a side-by-side pattern. Both leads and follows will step back and forth, catching hands on the one and five. To add complexity, leads will press into their partner's hand and guide it over the follow's head, creating a turn at the end. Finally, some flair was added with styling steps on seven and eight. Try a heel, heel, toe, toe at the end of your swing out to add a touch of personal style. ➡️ Learn more about Jonathan Lindsey and Savage Rhythm: https://www.facebook.com/savagerhythm1/ ➡️ Find all the best swing dancing in Phoenix: www.swingdancingphoenix.com #recapvideo #lindyhop #swingdance #dancelesson
